Milestones and Accomplishments First National AIDS Conference in Venezuela: In March 1998, AID FOR AIDS sponsored a conference where, for the first time, community activists, people with HIV, physicians, and government health ministers were brought together for a full day of discussions and presentations. August 1998, AID FOR AIDS office opened in Los Teques, Venezuela. January 1999, AID FOR AIDS office opened in Lima, Peru. March 1999, AID FOR AIDS office opened in Santiago de Chile. November 1999, AID FOR AIDS office opened in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. November 10, 2000 In 2000, AID FOR AIDS sent medications worth more than $3 million to Latin America and the Caribbean on an annual budget of $154,000. December 2001, AID FOR AIDS and the AIDSETTI organization (United Nations) established a collaboration to expand efforts in Africa. Noordwijk, the Netherlands In 2002, AID FOR AIDS sent medications worth more than $5 million to Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa on an annual budget of $240,000.
