AID FOR AIDS International and Air Europa Leaving a Footprint, For a World Without a Trace of HIV

AID FOR AIDS International, in partnership with Air Europa, is promoting the "Leaving a footprint" campaign to build awareness of AFAI's recycling program, which distributes unused and unexpired HIV/AIDS medication, free of charge, in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Air Europa is supporting an AID FOR AIDS International campaign to build awareness of AFAI's flagship medication recycling program in Latin America and the Caribbean.

A donation to our "LEAVING A FOOTPRINT FOR A WORLD WITHOUT A TRACE OF HIV" will go toward expanding our program to collect unused and unexpired antiretroviral (ARV) medicine in the U.S. and redistribute it, free of charge, to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in developing nations. Since1996, AFAI has distributed more than $70 million worth of free medication to thousands of needy recipients in 35 countries.

This campaign takes on added importance, as donations of recycled medication have dropped in the past 2 years, due mainly to the economy. This donation shortfall threatens AFAI's ability to continue serving our existing clients in Latin America and the Caribbean, and keeps us from filling demand from new clients requiring life-saving ARV medicine.
