ICASO names AID FOR AIDS Peru as Regional Host for the Civil Society Action Team.

AIDS FOR AIDS PERU has been selected as the Regional Host Organization for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) for a new initiative for civil society, created by the Global Implementation Support Team (GIST) of UNAIDS.  This initiative, the Civil Society Action Team (CSAT), mobilizes responses to significant problems in the implementation of programs funded by the Global Fund.  Assistance is provided by connecting organizations of civil society with organizations that provide technical support and coordinate advocacy actions locally, national and regionally.  CSAT-LAC logistically operates though strategic alliances with organizations, such as UNAIDS, the International Center for Technical Cooperation, and the Regional Center of Technical Attendance- part of Alliance International.  As the regional host, AFA Peru will continue to increase the number of organizations providing technical support to Global Fund grant applications and recipients, while providing guidance to grant applicants in the region.
