Summer of Prevention event with Manuel and Hermes - Domincan Republic
SANTO DOMINGO, JULY 14, 2008 - The event organized by the Youth Program “En Acción con Manuel y Hermes” with the support of AID FOR AIDS, is destined to contribute to the “culture” of protection and prevention of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) in our adolescent population.
These special presentations will be realized on Monday the 14th, 21st, and 28th of July:
Monday the 14th the program will be themed ‘Sun’
Monday the 21st it will be themed ‘Sand’
Monday the 28th it will be themed ‘Beach’
A young and interactive program with the best prevention messages for our children. The close of the “summer of prevention” will be Monday August 4th, and will be accompanied by the native rhythm of the country. In a fun and enjoyable way we will achieve the biggest quantity of people without loosing sight of the main objective, which is achieve consciousness and integration of the general public into the cause. We will count on the participation of young people to take the information and pass it on to other young people and people of all ages.
The attendants, other than enjoying the atmosphere dominated by Sun, Sand, and Beach, will have the opportunity during three weeks to see how this preventative summer develops by tuning into our program. ‘En Accion con Manuel y Hermes” can be viewed Monday through Friday between 5:00 and 6:00 PM on CERTV channel 4 and Dominican View in the United States.
AID FOR AIDS is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to bettering the quality of life for people living with HIV and AIDS for more than ten years. Their programs have been implemented in Panama, Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic, with offices in Miami and Chile, and the headquarters in New York. They have received recognition at from both civic society and governments for their work with antiretroviral and in their initiatives to fight the disease through primary, secondary and tertiary prevention campaigns.
