HOW TO SAVE A CHILD announces donation of pediatric meds to 4 countries in Latin America & Caribbean

image AFA’s access to medication program for children living with HIV and AIDS in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), How to Save a Child, has donated almost 650 bottles of pediatric HIV medication to four countries in LAC.  Governments in Antigua, Belize, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua will all receive bottles of Kaletra solution, an antiretroviral medication commonly used to treat pediatric populations.
While the smaller Caribbean countries of Belize and Antigua will receive a small number of bottles (however, proportional to their epidemic), the National AIDS Program in the Dominican Republic will benefit from a donation of 400 bottles of medication.
According to UNAIDS, there are an estimated 3,600 children living with HIV and AIDS in the Dominican Republic- however, this number could be as high as 8,000 children.  This donation represents only one of a number of donations How To Save a Child has made to National AIDS Programs in the LAC region, as it continues working to improve the quality of life for children living with HIV and AIDS and their families.
