Earlier this year, AFA launched a new promotional campaign for our HIV Medicine Recycling Program titled “Every Pill Counts.”

Since our founding in 1996, AFA’s pioneering HIV Medicine Recycling Program has collected and redistributed over $140-million worth of unused and unexpired HIV medicines from the US to over 20,000 people in 59 countries.

The “Every Pill Counts” campaign presents testimonials from people with HIV who call on others “not to flush” their unused, unexpired HIV medicine because this medicine can be “donated and save lives” around the globe.

The campaign launch has involved the development of new English and Spanish-language campaign brochures, campaign posters, and the redesign of our medicine drop-off boxes and panels.

It has also been launched through a direct-mail campaign and social media. We’re excited for this expansion and revitalization of our medicine recycling program.

Please, contact Efren Olivares at [email protected] or (212) 337-8043 if you want to:

  • Donate any unused unexpired medicines
  • Receive a shipment of FREE brochures and posters of this campaign to promote the program
  • Learn more about the AFA HIV Medicine Recycling Program or want to arrange for a presentation.
  • Volunteer to become a medicine drop-off center.
