AID FOR AIDS and AID FOR LIFE received the “Organization with the Power of Change Towards Gender Equality” award at the She Is Global Forum 2022
The award is granted by the She Is Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promote, integrate and implement gender equality, entrepreneurship and social innovation projects, led by women, with a special focus on vulnerable areas.
She Is Global Forum 2022: Women of the Future, was held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, from November 9 to 11. For 3 days, people from all backgrounds met with the purpose of sharing success stories, strategies, and global, regional, and local trends regarding women’s empowerment and leadership.
The award recognized AFA and AFL as organizations that, through their social impact, create economic opportunities for women in Latin America.
Besides receiving the award, Jesús Aguais participated in the conference as a speaker, where he talked about our organizations, and the call to action that have always moved us to make a change in people’s lives. Through three success stories, Jesus demonstrated how taking action in times of crisis can reach and help people in vulnerable situations.
Also in attendance at the She Is Global Forum 2022 were Jaime Valencia, our Vice President for International Affairs, Jorge Luis Díaz, our Regional Director of Development for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Jesús de la Hoz, our AID FOR AIDS Representative in Cartagena de Indias.
