AID FOR AIDS opens Health Provider Institution (IPS in Spanish) in Cali, Colombia
AID FOR AIDS inaugurated in Cali, Colombia on November 30,2023 a Health Provider Institution (IPS in Spanish) called TU SALUD GLOBAL. This IPS provides comprehensive and specialized care to the LGBTIQA+ population and populations in vulnerable situations, such as Venezuelan migrants and refugees.
Since then, the IPS has proven to be a success in providing high quality healthcare, focusing on addressing medical and emotional needs, through comprehensive, inclusive, and respectful care services, promoting the health and well-being of our community.
The IPS provides services to prevent and treat Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in these populations, especially HIV. Among its services offered, there is screening through rapid diagnostic tests, provision of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), delivery of medications, among others.
Since October, the IPS has had 185 new admissions and currently has 999 beneficiaries in its active cohort. In addition, 1,704 screening tests have been performed, of which 215 have been reactive to HIV. Likewise, 114 users are being monitored for PrEP.
In addition to the IPS, AID FOR AIDS International has an application called TU SALUD DIGITAL. Currently, it is being used in Colombia to reach areas that are difficult to access or with a poor population, mainly migrants or refugees who are at risk of HIV.
