AID FOR AIDS launches “El Observatorio Migrante”
AID FOR AIDS is thrilled to present its most recent project in Latin America: El Observatorio Migrante (The Migrant’s Observatory), an initiative born out of the need to inform, monitor and influence change in all matters related to the current migration crisis in Latin America.
The Observatorio Migrante, inspired in the well-known Observatorio Latino at AID FOR AIDS, is an initiative that aims to address the refugee crisis in Latin America, with a special focus on the LGBTQ+ community and people with HIV, by sharing useful tools and information for migrants and refugees while also increasing the visibility of the crisis.
Through its section on our website, social media campaigns, webinars, partnerships with community based organizations and community outreach in the field; the Observatorio Migrante will group all information available in regards to legal advise, healthcare and immigration services, HIV testing, migrants’ rights and humanitarian assistance available throughout the region most traveled by refugees: Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia.
Together, we can save lives one by one and reduce stigma and discrimination for migrants and refugees across the world.
