AID FOR AIDS Peru carries out Sexual Health and Prevention Campaign at the Polvos Azules Shopping Center
On August 30, our AFA Peru team carried out the Sexual Health and Prevention Campaign at the Polvos Azules Shopping Center in the La Victoria district, Lima, Peru.
In this intervention, our multidisciplinary team informed the Venezuelan migrant population about prevention methods and sexual education. Likewise, they did HIV and Syphilis testing.
Immigration guidance was also provided to the participants, answering their questions and providing information about migration processes to obtain regular immigration status within Peruvian territory, which would allow them to join the Integrated Health System (SIS in Spanish) and thus have access to greater medical care.
Likewise, counseling and emotional support were provided to participants diagnosed with HIV and Syphilis during the campaign, helping them through the process of their diagnosis; providing them with advice and support through our team of linkers so that they can access antiretroviral treatment distributed by the Ministry of Health.
