AID FOR LIFE participated in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour to raise awareness for newly arrived asylum seekers in NYC
Our president, Jesús Aguais, and two asylum seekers, Reymari Urbina and Josue Vargas, teamed up and cycled through the 5 boroughs of the Big Apple on the annual TD Bank tour. For its 45th edition, our team rode through Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island to raise awareness about the unprecedented migration crisis in NYC.
Through our social media, our team showed their path through the streets of New York while telling us about their experiences and the needs that asylum seekers have when they arrive in this country. A link was made available where viewers could make donations to raise funds for these families.
Since Spring 2022, AID FOR LIFE has been responding to the crisis serving close to 11,000 newly arrived asylum seekers with clothing, shoes, culturally appropriate hot meals, and information about legal and health services.
